During every regatta the breast cancer teams join their boats together in the water and each paddler holds a flower. The ceremony represents a celebration of life for those that have passed on. They are honored by the team’s joining hands and a speaker says a few words about the survivors and those who have passed. Music is played and everyone raises the flowers above their heads then together the flowers are tossed into the water creating a very emotional moment.
