Julia from the Vienna Pink Dragons joined us for a paddle then dinner with her family and some team members. She was on her way to the Long Beach Dragon Boat Festival. Some of the team raced with Julia in New Zealand.

We had a fabulous day at Hamilton Waterfest. Perfect weather, Peggy’s return as steer, first races for some newbies, poignant flower ceremony, visits with friends on other teams, Nancy H as guest paddler, and family member visits. A great way to spend a Sunday. Thanks to Alkame for another successful festival.
The Pink Crusaders were so lucky to have Terence Yu, a Canadian National Coach with us for practice.
Pink Crusaders Dragon Boat Team joined forces with Dragons Abreast for the CIBC Run for the Cure. They raised almost $15,000 and won the Women’s Team Challenge Award for raising the most money of all the women’s teams. We walked the 5km today pulling a wagon with a dragon boat head kindly loaned to us by Andrew Liew of Afterburn.
